About Ching Farm Rescue & Sanctuary
Farm animals have the same emotional capacity as traditional companions like dogs and cats, yet modern cruelty laws do not apply to them. Under the law, they are seen as mere objects for human use.
At Ching Farm, we fill a need in the Salt Lake area by advocating for farm animals through rescue,education, and adoption/placement services. We believe that our advocate work can help change perceptions of farm animals and create a deeper respect for the rich emotional lives of these animals.
Ching Farm Rescue and Sanctuary was founded by Faith and Mike Ching in Utah in 1998. The farm became incorporated as Ching Farm Rescue as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your donations are tax-deductible.

Our Wish List
Want to donate something specific for our animals? Our Wish List is updated continuously and details exactly what we need. Here is a partial list of things we can use today:
- Chicken Scratch ~$16 per 50 lb. bag (we use 8 bags per week)
- Purina Equine Senior Feed for senior horses - 50 lb. bag is ~$22 (we use 3 bags per week)
- Purina Equine Ultium - 50 lb. bag is ~$27 (we use 3 bags per week)
- Ching Farm Custom Blend Potbelly Pig Feed - 50 lb. bag ~$17 per bag (7 bags per week - at the Riverton, UT IFA exclusively)
- Horse 4-Way - (sweet grain) 50 lb. bag ~$16 (we use 7 bags per week)
- "Legacy" Joint Supplement for senior horses - $31 (we use 1 bucket per week)
- Used (clean) or new blankets for the pigs (we collect these year round)
- Cat Litter (we prefer the kind that clumps - Tidycat Multiple Cat is what our kitties are used to)
- Pine Shavings (for bedding)
