Mama Tuki was actually born on the feedlot. The owner of the feedlot, a rodeo enthusiast, kept her and trained her to be a bucker. Typically if a horse does not perform, it is sent to slaughter. For some reason, Mama Tuki was the exception to this rule, hence her full name Mama Tuki Soft Spot. The owner of the feedlot called Faith to come get Mama Tuki when it became apparent that she was just too gentle to ever be a bucker.
