Rosa is an eight-year old mustang that came to Ching from the Bureau of Land Management. There are only about 30,000 wild mustangs left in the United States but they are getting rounded up and thrown off their land to make room for over three million cattle to graze.

The Cattlemen's Association has them removed because it claims the mustangs are overgrazing, which is strange since there are so few of the mustangs left and they eat half of what cattle do. The cattle raised on these lands are consumed as free-range beef. It only makes up about 3% off all the beef consumed in our country.

Rosa has been adopted out before, but her guardians were unable to keep her due to the economic down turn so she was returned to live at the sanctuary.
