Items available at Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) in Riverton, Utah:
- Purina Senior Food for senior horses - 50 lb. bag is ~$19
- Purina Ultium for horses - 50 lb. bag is ~$24
- Omalene 500 - 50 lb. bag is ~$20
- "Legacy" (joint supplement) for senior horses - $27
- Ching Farm Custom Blend Pot-Bellied Pig Food - 50 lb bag is ~$16
- Rubbermaid Big Wheel Cart 5642 (Wheel Barrow), 7.5 Cubic Feet - the kind with two wheels! Also available at Home Depot,Lowe's, etc. for around $220
- 150 - 300 gallon Rubbermaid livestock tanks.
- Water heaters for Rubbermaid livestock tanks - not the floating kind (the animals can chew thru the wires!)
- Solar Panels. For a few hundred dollars, many farm supply and home improvement stores have large solar panals available and we'd love to have some to supply electricity to our barn, green house, and pig houses. This could provide heat in the winter, de-iced water dishes, light and would go a long way to improving our out-buildings.
Other Needs:
- Farrier Services (or money to pay for them) - approx. cost is $35 per horse (our horses need done every couple of months). Or, if you are a farrier, please consider donating your time!
- Money for hay - we use 1/2 ton alfalfa and oat/grass hay per DAY - cost is soaring, and prices are supposed to continue to rise. If you have good hay to donate, please know that we do NOT have the means to transport it here, we would need you to deliver it and quite possibly stack it.
We do NOT accept:
- Dog Food
- Old or Mouldy Hay, or Hay with weeds like foxtails
If you are able to supply us with any of these items, please contact us at volunteer@chingsanctuary.org to arrange a drop off (please don't just show up, we may not be home!) and THANK YOU!
